Showing this area

Sanur

Often the gentlest Bali base for younger children thanks to calm water stretches and an easy promenade.

Seminyak

Useful for larger villas and dining choice, but best when your family is comfortable with busier streets.

Ubud

Good for families who want greenery, villas, and cultural outings rather than a beach-led holiday.

Getting around

Private drivers are the simplest way to move around, but families usually have a better trip when they choose one base well instead of trying to cover the whole island.

Best time to go

The drier months are easiest for pool and beach stays, though Bali can still work year-round if you build in flexible indoor time and expect showers.

Worth knowing

Transfer times can be longer than they look on the map, especially if you try to combine southern beach areas with inland stays in a short trip.

Why families choose Bali

Bali has family rooms, connecting rooms and villas, but the name alone does not tell you how everyone will sleep. Compare the published adult and child limits before choosing a room.

Good fit for

villa stays, resort holidays, families wanting service and value.

Family rooms for five or six

Padma Resort Legian publishes a Ground Floor Family Room for two adults, three children up to 12 and one infant. Padma Resort Ubud has a Family Premier category with a different adult and child mix. Both have extra-person charges. Check the total for your children’s ages rather than comparing the starting room price.

Kids clubs with younger siblings

The Wolly clubs at Padma Legian and Padma Ubud take ages 4 to 12 for supervised activities. Under-fours need an accompanying parent, guardian or babysitter. If you want time without the children, book care that covers the youngest child too.

Pool access and bedtime

A pool-access room can make swimming convenient, but check how the door to the water is secured. Ask where a cot fits and whether the children’s sleeping area has a door. At Padma Ubud, the children’s pool is 45cm deep and has no lifeguard.

Questions before you book

Can a family of five share a room in Bali?

Some named family categories allow it. Padma Legian’s Ground Floor Family Room allows two adults and three children up to 12, plus one infant. Extra-person charges apply. Enter every child’s age when checking availability.

Are Bali kids clubs suitable for toddlers?

Check the minimum drop-off age. Padma Legian and Padma Ubud publish ages 4 to 12 for their supervised clubs; younger children need an accompanying adult or babysitter.
